The Role

The primary objective of the role is to maximise revenue through pro-active and reactive selling and commercial management strategies and techniques.

The Person

As well as having experience in a similar role, the ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, deliver exceptional service to clients, be highly organised and be able to prioritise their workload. Previous experience with systems such as Delphi FDC or similar would be highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

  • To carry out sales strategies and action plans which support the hotel purpose and addresses short, mid and long-term business opportunities.
  • Maintain regular contact with key accounts to maximise hotel use. Keep accurate information on clients’ business needs and trends and to proactively use this data.
  • To identify and develop new Corporate and Conference business for the Hotel.
  • Prioritise sales efforts, both by telephone and direct, on :
  •                     the local market
  •                     travel consortia
  •                     group\inbound specialists
  •                     conference market
  • To develop group business at need times and maintain ongoing co-ordination to ensure successful group operation.
  • To liaise with Reservations, Front Office and Conference department regarding special rates, allocations, promotions etc and to ensure all departments are aware of these.
  • Research and identify new sources of business via telephone sales, market research, in-house sales, direct mail, ‘cold calling’ etc.
  • To constantly monitor the performance of the hotel and to develop strategies to rectify any negative deviation in hotel performance.
  • To submit weekly reports on sales highlights, groups, M&E confirmed and provisional business.
  • To submit on a monthly basis a detailed report on sales activity, contacts, results etc.
  • Assist the General Manager in the development of the annual Business Plan including the market segmentation breakdown and revenue forecast.
  • To carry out activities as agreed and detailed in the Business Plan.
  • To pro-actively source and report competitor and hotel industry information that will assist in long and short term planning.
  • To keep aware, through networking with competitor hotels sales departments, on the trends, threats, opportunities etc. and react accordingly.
  • To actively promote the company’s other hotels and pass on leads and information to the sales personnel.
  • To undertake special duties or work outside the normal daily/weekly routine but within the overall scope of the position at the request of your General Manager.

  • Accurately and promptly fulfilling guest requests
  • Understand and anticipate guest needs
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge which will enhance the guest experience
  • Demonstrate a service attitude that exceeds expectations
  • Take appropriate action to resolve guest complaints.
  • Appreciate the dynamic nature of the hotel industry and extend these service attributes to all internal customers.
  • Be able to promote the hotel products and services.
  • Maintain a high level of product and service knowledge about all Hilton hotels in your region.
